Adoption Issues and Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD)

ADOPTION ISSUES. Many parents who adopt young children often discover that their children suffer, in later years, with various behavioral and therapeutic issues. There may be many reasons for these problems, as varied as the differences in the children themselves, their early years of life, and the families into which they were adopted.

NO BLAME. It is fruitless to try to lay blame upon the child, natural parents, or the adoptive parents and family. The bottom line is that a life is at risk, and the need for help and intervention is critical. Those who have the capability, and who care to do so, must join to assist the child in coping with and overcoming the attachment issues associated with adoption.
