Guarantee #2: Coordination with Insight Technical Academy and Third-Party Treatment Provider Guarantees

Various out-of-home treatment programs have expressed an interest in providing a treatment guarantee on students whose parents have participated in the ReFraming Parenting Program. Specifics on their guarantees vary. However, most who have shown interest are willing to provide some form of placement guarantee in conjunction with a guarantee by SIM.

The Insight Technical Academy guarantee is a model for such third-party guarantees: If a child graduates from a treatment program, returns home, then reverts to initial referral behavior within 6 months of graduation, the treatment program will take the child back for 60 days, free of charge. However, Insight Technical Academy requires the parents of the child to take a free refresher course in ReFraming Families, in conjunction with the child's return. Although these guarantees and their details are provided purely at the discretion of the treatment programs, SIM is fully willing to honor a parent-side, third-party treatment program guarantee as outlined. However, such a treatment program must be approved as an organization whose business and therapeutic practices meet SIM and The ReFraming Parenting Program's standards of ethical conduct. Most do not, so choose wisely.

ReFraming Guarantees

SIM's ReFraming clients will find various forms of guarantees associated with treatment services.

Parental Requirements of Guarantee #1

SIM offers a $1,500 guarantee on the ReFraming Parenting Program. Client families who wish to have this guarantee on their services must participate in the 12-month program, which includes ReFraming Families, Unity, and Achievement. To qualify for a refund of the fees parents need to maintain full implementation, reporting, and participation policies of the ReFraming Parenting Program throughout the 12-month program, and show that their child did not progress during the implementation period. The implementation process begins with either enrollment in the ReFraming Parenting Program ($9,750), or with the child's enrollment in the Insight Technical Academy, which includes the ReFraming Parenting Program ($5,200/month for nine months).

Therapeutic Requirements of Guarantee #1

Exercise of the Guarantee requires the supporting statements of at least one licensed therapist who has been therapeutically involved with the student for at least six months immediately prior to exercise of the guarantee, and in accordance with program standards. Also, exercise of the guarantee must be made after completion of the 12-month program, and within 60 days of said completion. If student reports show no positive progress during the treatment term, and therapeutic analysis confirms that progress has not been made, SIM will immediately provide a refund of $1,500. NOTE: The child(ren) in question must reside in the home (or be in parental custodial control for the duration of the guaranteed service time), totalling 12 months.

Placement in an out-of-home treatment program not approved by SIM and the ReFraming Parenting Program invalidates the guarantee. Placement in the Insight Technical Academy or Beyond Boarders Vocational School does not constitute lack of progress. Such placement may actually enhance the success potential of ReFraming students and their families. The reporting and participation requirements for these students still apply. Moreover, while SIM is very willing to pay on valid guarantee claims, all accounts on which claims are paid are closed, and SIM benefits are drawn to an end. This includes, but is not limited to SIM supported, sponsored, or provided scholarships and scholarship programs.
