Not all therapists are alike. The ReFraming Parenting Program is based upon principles
that work extremely well with therapists who have training and experience
in family and relationship issues. We suggest you look for a Licensed Marriage
and Family Therapist (LMFT). An exceptional site through which you can search
for a therapist in your area is www.therapistlocator.net. The ReFraming Parenting Program |
Families, Unity, Achievement |
Parenting Help for Troubled Teens and Children |
Everything they are began with you and your home. Now they need you to help them
find solutions. Family is the best place to start. |
With The ReFraming Parenting Program all treatment has its beginnings in the home.
If completely successful, it will end there also. |
ReFraming Families: The Beginning Although SIM offers low-cost seminars and coaching services in lieu of treatment care, its ReFraming Parenting Program begins with ReFraming Families. ReFraming Families is prerequisite to participation in ReFraming Unity and Achievement. SIM and The ReFraming Parenting Program believe that whenever possible treatment for troubled teens should begin within the society of the family. Although it may extend to non-family care, it should not end until the child is reunited with the family and sufficient, therapeutically oriented treatment has taken place within the family system to ensure long-term success. ReFraming Families begins with a three-day training course which covers the following material: (this list is not all-inclusive): |
I. The Art of Gaining and Understanding True Control 1. Youth Management Methods. Employment of simple, yet powerful strategies traditionally taught to staff members in residential treatment centers. The strategies taught are based upon SIM's proprietary ReFraming Model, which has been adapted for use in behavior modification and Positive Peer Culture programs. It has also been used to instruct treatment students and their parents. Now, through the ReFraming Parenting program, SIM brings this model and its concepts to your home. 2. Establishment of Roles, Limits, and Discipline. Evaluation of the roles of discipline, concern, and limits within the home. This portion of the program shows parents how to elicit appropriate responses, interactions, and achievments from their children. The ReFraming Model is used to facilitate this process. This training includes crisis-intervention techniques, and de-escalation strategies. 3. Seeking Strength vs. Weakness. Methods for demanding and eliciting strength and maturity from your child. This training is augmented with detailed processes to help parents resist the traps associated with ineffective consequences, rewards, and other responses. Such ineffective response patterns are used by authority figures to deceive themselves into believing that they are in control, and are used by children to manipulate their parents. 4. Evaluating the Needs and Characteristics of the Troubled Teen and the Family. Evaluation of student treatment needs, including development of a home-based treatment plan. 5. Developing Appropriate Alliances with Teens. Powerful techniques to enlist children in the ReFraming process. 6. Generalizing Approaches to Problem-Solving. Q&A forums to resolve concerns, and realistic role-plays to help parents recognize the simple, yet powerful tools they can employ to immediately begin the process of growth and change among their troubled teens and children. |
II. Plotting Your Course in the Youth-At-Risk Industry 7. Orientation on Treatment Resources. Orientation and training on the following ReFraming Parenting Program online forums: 1) Community Support, 2) Staff Support, 3) Recurring Training, 4) Treatment and Crisis Reporting, and 5) Peer-to-Peer Development. 8. What the Industry Thinks of Your Children. Brief overviews of treatment theories being applied by out-of-home treatment programs. 9. Making Good Use of a Good Industry. Instruction on what to look for in a treatment program, should out-of-home placement become necessary. This includes investigation techniques (such as seeking references and opinions regarding the program from its state licensing authority, contacting educational consultants and referral sources, requesting specific and documented statistical data from the program, etc.). Also included are techniques to ensure that promises made by the program are adhered to. 10. Strengthening Your Home, Your Life, and Your Teen: ReFraming Wisely. Instruction on how to implement ReFraming techniques within the home, how to find therapists and other necessary health care providers, and how to qualify for the program's money-back guarantee (only available to families who enroll in the full ReFraming Treatment Program, including ReFraming Families, Unity, and Achievement). Note: The price of the 12-Month ReFraming Parenting Program is a one-time fee of $9,750 if purchased as a stand-alone service. However, it is a component of the Insight Technical Academy's services to parents and children. |
